Have you noticed that there is often a sharp divide in between the allopathic health community and the naturopathic health community? In other words, the Medical Doctors and the Natural Health Professionals often seem to disagree fundamentally. But which is right?
Perhaps it is not so much of an issue of being right as it is an issue of roles and expertise. Perhaps it is not that Medical Doctors are bad or that natural health solutions are a hoax. Perhaps they should work together!
In the part one of this report, we’ll discuss the medical side of the issue: Pros and cons. Then we’ll do the same for the natural side, then wrap the discussion up.
The downside of the allopathic approach to health
One of the biggest problems with the medical approach to health is side effects. Quite simply, there are no pharmaceutical drugs that do not have undesirable side effects. Some have fewer side effects, some have more. Some side effects are very serious, others are not. But all drugs have side effects.
Another bad aspect to allopathic health is that it generally is designed to artificially and often superficially correct the problem, but not deal with the root issue. For example, when you take cold medicine, it does nothing for your cold – it just suppresses the symptoms so that you don’t notice the cold symptoms as much.
So for me, the biggest problems with using pharmaceuticals is that they are toxic, can be dangerous, and often do not address the root health issue.
On the plus side, the Medical approach excels in crisis situations. For example, if I were in a car accident and were in critical condition, I would not go see a nutritionist. I would go to the hospital, where they could forcefully intervene and hopefully save my life.
While the allopathic approach to health certainly has it’s share of faults, the natural health approach is not perfect either.
Probably the biggest issue the natural health community faces is the issue of quality and truth. In other words, what really works, and what doesn’t? You sometimes have to dig through a lot of dirt to find the gold, as the proverb says.
Often times a particular nutrient, plant, or source may be helpful, but the end product is not. One study showed that some antioxidant products actually had an oxidative effect. Why? Because the company producing them had not properly researched, developed, and tested their products.
The greatest strength of the natural approach is that it generally works with your body, instead of against it or in spite of it, like the medical approach does. There are exceptions to this, though. Many herbs are really just natural drugs, so you should be careful with them.
But nutritional supplements, for example, work with your body to strengthen, build up, and equip your body to protect, defend and restore your health naturally, with no side effects. The flip side of the coin is of course that nutrition takes time to do it’s job. In critical cases, something more abrupt is needed – perhaps something the medical community has to offer.
That leads us to the conclusion: perhaps the solution is for natural and medical health practices to work together to create an even healthier you.
What if you were to use improved nutrition, nutritional supplements and other natural methods to naturally improve your health, but still use “conventional” medical approaches when needed? The key is to balance the cost and the benefits. Is not feeling your cold symptoms worth the potential side effects and long term health damage that you could get from using cold medication? On the other hand, if you have an infection, is running the risk of a serious infection or running the risk of damage from antibiotics worse?
Get the facts, balance the issues, and use natural and medical approaches together for the best of health!

Our skin is the reflection of our health and vitality, physical, mental and emotional wellness. A radiant and glowing skin indicates good health, positive attitude and vibrates self-confidence. On the other hand, a dull and blemished skin shows an unhealthy body, stressful lifestyle and carelessness towards one’s own personality.
Who doesn’t want to look good, and good looks start with good skin. You may think it’s not such a big issue; there are several products in the market to make the skin beautiful and glowing in a jiffy. But as you use them, you must also be realizing that it is not so. These cosmetic products produce temporary effects on skin, have lots of side effects, and are very costly and not suited to all skin types. Then, what’s the way out? Here’s where we come to our topic of discussion, to care for the skin in a natural way that is natural skin care.
Natural skin care is not just about using skin products produced without chemicals; it’s an ongoing process of a result of a healthy life-style, right diet and off-course right skin products to be applied directly.
First of all, natural way of caring for skin starts with some life-style changes we need to take care of. Getting enough sleep: ‘Beauty sleep’ is not just a saying; its meaning goes far beyond that. As the rest of the body, for healthy skin, sleeping adequately is a must. At least 7 – 8 hours of sleep (hours vary for person to person), ensures a relaxed mind and body, normal blood flow, takes care of all wear and tear during the day, energizes you and brings the glow back in the morning. Dark circles around the eyes, blotchy skin, and lifeless appearance of face are all side effects of not getting enough sleep. So switch off that TV, log-off your laptop, and get from the party on time to catch a good night’s sleep.
Get Moving: Now that you’ve got enough sleep, its time for some exercises as well. Be active, walk, jog, exercise, hit the gym, do stretches during office hours too, take the stairs, do anything to keep moving. Inactivity affects the skin by promoting bloating and puffiness, cellulite and loss of muscle tone. Exercise also helps us to relax and de-stress, both necessary for a healthy skin.
Drink lots of water: Water helps to detoxify the body’s system, bathes the cells, eliminates waste products, help in digestion, purify blood and the list goes on and on. The point is to have at least 2 liters of water a day, avoid carbonated and sweetened drinks and have fresh juices and soups as additional source of fluids.
For a shiny and smooth skin, drinking honey mixed in warm water in the morning helps a lot. Secondly, natural way of caring for skin by eating right.
Let’s discuss some basic points:
Have lots of fiber: Eating food that is rich in fiber help a good digestion and constipation is totally taken care of. This eliminates the root of many skin problems like acne, psoriasis, spotty skin etc. we must have lots of fruits, fresh veggies, whole grains, and salad. The idea is to cut on processed food and fast food because these contain almost no fiber. Eating things in their natural form is the mantra to get the most benefit out of it.
Cut on excess sugar: The more we take sugar, the more sugar enters our bloodstream. Over some time, this results in a process where the glucose molecules damages protein molecule by sticking to it. This causes damage in collagen, cartilage and ligament, thus forming wrinkles. So, the next time, you are adding the second spoon of sugar to your tea/ coffee or going to bite on your favorite sweet…think again!!
Get some good fats: These are the fats needed to build cells, membrane, hormones etc. Lack of the good fat can lead to eczema, acne and dry skin. The sources to get these fats are cold-water fish, walnut oil, flaxseed oil, nuts; also you can try fish oil supplements.
Apart from these basic dietary requirements, we need to have a balanced diet containing Vitamins, Minerals, Proteins, Fats, all essential ingredients which comprises an adequate diet. This is absolutely vital for a healthy body and mind along with a smooth, glowing skin.
Last but not the least, we come to the most interesting part of out discussion. Natural skin care products, to be applied regularly for best results. According to the classic definition of natural skin care products, these are products found and used in their natural or raw form without any chemicals and manufactured in such a way so as to preserve the integrity of the ingredient.
There are many products, which can be bought from the market, manufactured by reputed companies. But best is to spend a little time and prepare some easy recipes for taking care of common skin problems and daily cleansing and toning.
Skin Care Tips:
· Stop using soap on your face (if possible, on body also). Use gram flour and milk to make a paste. Apply it gently and rub a little, then wash off with water. Believe me, it’s much better that any soap!!
· Massage body with mustard oil 10 minutes before bath, and then take a warm bath. Your skin will be moisturized and smooth.
· Massage your body with milk. Milk moisturizes your skin naturally.
· For daily cleansing, mix sandal wood powder with rose water and add 4-5 drops of milk in it, then apply on face and body. After 10 minutes, take a warm bath.
· Warm honey and mix with lemon juice, then apply on face. Let it dry, and then wash off with warm water. It refreshes and cleanses your skin.
· For preparing natural bleach, mix lemon juice in milk. Then massage it on your face and body. It bleaches you skin naturally.
· To remove sun-tan, mix cucumber juice with tomato juice, rub on skin, wash off with cold water.
· Mix milk cream with flour, apply that paste on to your skin, then wash off to get a smooth skin.
These are the basic ways of caring for skin naturally. The glow and radiance that comes with the natural care practice is for all to see and is everlasting. Just remember: Beauty is not skin deep…still it starts with the skin!!

Stepping into a new millennium, we have progressed in everything, even diseases are also in rise. Today, the average Americans suffer from multiple physical and mental disorders, thanks to a fast paced, highly demanding professional and social life.
However the holistic health consultants have something unique up their sleeve and that involves cleansing of your inside to stay away from the serious diseases. Just look around and you will come to find a number of detox programs making round everywhere.
Don’t just jump at the next detox program that lures you with its attractive promises. In order to take an informed decision, you have to know about the different types of detox program. The guide below helps you to take a glimpse on the several types of detox plans, that might employ variety of methods, but similar in their goals which is to free your body from the harmful toxins.
Water Fasting
Water fasting may be the most extreme form of cleansing. It uses up maximum amount of calories to carry out the detox functions and therefore considered to be the most intense.
Master cleanse diet
Master cleanse typically includes, lemon, honey, meple syrup and cetain herbs. This is less intense than the water fasting as the ingredients in it supply nutrients that complement the detoxification process and cleansing takes place at a more comfortable level.
Juice Fasting
Juice fasting is considered to be the most popular way of detoxification. Most nutritionists consider it to be the best tool of cleansing, because the juice supplies adequate amount of nutrients while detoxing. This helps to maintain the balance of enzymes and calories in the body and therefore detox takes place at reduced intensity. Thus juice fast is regarded to be the most comfortable way of detoxing.
Raw Food Diet
The raw food detox diet involving organic fruits and vegetables will give you more or less same detox effects as the juice fast. Only in the case of raw food diet, the cleansing process continues for a longer stretch of time. In this diet, nuts, raw fishes, and baked organic chickens act as good source of protein.
However, consumption of dairy products, cooked starches or calorie rich foods are strictly banned from the raw food diet. Indulgence in these types of foods considerably slows down the detoxification process.
Vegetarian diet
An adherence to vegan diet is believed to be the key to a toxin free body for life. A typical vegan diet consists of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, cereals, nuts and herbs. Some vegan diets include dairy products and eggs in their food list.
Detoxification Aids
To complement your detox process, drink fresh juice at least once a day. Boost up your body’s detox mechanism through multi-vitamin supplements. Also add antioxidants such as vitamins E and Q10, to your detox program.

Just as it is important to cleanse your physical body from time to time, it is also important to perform cleansing on the chakras as well. You can not see your chakras, however they are your energy centers are are just as much a part of your body as your lungs or colon is.
These are nine easy steps and are a great way to start cleansing the chakras.
1.) Start off by closing your eyes. Begin to focus on your breathing, Breath deeply through your nostrils, and then exhale through your mouth.
2.) Visualize a white light coming down from above and flowing through your body, sweeping away and cleansing yourself of all negativity. The negativity is drawn out from your body and moved away into the earth.
3.) Next visualize a red vortex of energy spinning slowly at the base of your spine. It is your Root Chakra connecting you to the earth. As it spins, it is cleansing you of all the impurities contained within you.
4.) Begin to visualize an orange vortex of energy now, located just below your navel. It is your Sacral chakra of sexuality. As it spins it cleanses you just like the others.
5.) Just below your rib cage, visualize a yellow vortex of energy which is your Solar Plexus Chakra. Watch it spin slowly and cleansing your body.
6.) In the center of your chest, a green vortex of energy appears. This is your Heart Chakra. Watch it spin and cleanse your body.
7.) A bright blue chakra appears next in your throat. Watch begin to spin slowly and cleanse you.
8.) A beautiful indigo chakra lastly appears at the middle of your forehead. This is your Third Eye Chakra. It spins and slowly cleanses your mind of any negative thoughts. You begin to feel greater self realization.
9.) Lastly, spin your Crown Chakra at the very top of your head full of white energy. Feel the connection with your higher source.
Don’t become discouraged if you have trouble performing this cleansing. It does take practice. Read on to learn more about Cleansing Chakras

November 18th, 2009 -- Posted in Body Toxins |
Over a lifetime (or in the case of an ecological disaster, an alarmingly short time), the human body assimilates a number of toxins. Some of these are in such trace amounts that we really needn’t worry about them, but it is still wise to avoid as many toxins in the diet and the environment as possible. Here are ten of the most common toxins found in human blood and cells:
Free Radicals
These are the toxic waste products of the process of oxidation within our bodies. Oxidation (like rust on iron) is what causes the deterioration of cells, like a bruised apple when it goes brown and mushy. This goes on at a cellular level within the human body and accelerates the aging process.
The effects of free radicals can be reduced by the consumption of anti-oxidant-rich red, orange and yellow fruits and vegetables, along with increasing our exercise and eating less.
Mercury
The commonest sources of Mercury are amalgam fillings and the eating of large marine fish such as tuna. Mercury is implicated in Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, heart failure, irregular heartbeat and even some cancers. There is debate as to whether it is worthwhile to have amalgam fillings removed and replaced. Similarly, the health benefits of eating oily marine fish should be weighed carefully against the risks of mercury consumption.
Sugar
Refined sugar is known as “the white death”. We all know it’s bad for us, that it contains calories without nutrients. Too much of it can cause insulin resistance, diabetes. The answer is simple; eat less white sugar.
Caffeine
Many people enjoy caffeinated drinks and find that they give them a much-needed “high” in times of fatigue. Don’t forget that caffeine is quite a powerful drug and taking yourself off it can cause quite severe withdrawal symptoms. Some people are “allergic” to caffeine and it can cause irrational mood swings and exacerbation of PMS, even heartbeat irregularities. Best to wean yourself off it.
C-Reactive Protein
Perhaps it is wrong to consider this a toxin in itself, but its presence in the blood is an indicator of inflammation in the body. A high reading of C-Reactive Protein in the blood can indicate a propensity to heart attack. It is elevated by infections, inflammatory conditions, insulin resistance, and certain hormones such as those in the contraceptive pill or HRT. It is thought that a preventative dose of aspirin may be effective in reducing the level of C-Reactive Protein.
Cholesterol
A buildup of LDL (low-density lipoprotein) or “bad” cholesterol in the blood is implicated in heart disease via hardening of the arteries. Avoid high cholesterol by eating less saturated fats, exercising regularly, eating supplements rich in plant sterols or (as a last resort) Statins (prescribed cholesterol-lowering drugs).
Cortisol
This is produced by the body at times of worry and stress, therefore it is commonly called the stress hormone. Eliminate cortisol by exercising, laughing, relaxing, enjoying a hobby and not allowing your own personal stresses to fester and thrive within you!
Pesticides
We encounter these in our own gardens (unless we garden totally organically) and on most bought fruits and vegetables. At least trace amounts are probably found in most people’s bodies. Either buy organic or make sure you thoroughly wash any fruit and veg you buy.
Dioxins
These are unwanted byproducts of heating processes and can increase cancer risks. They are suspected as contributory factors in diabetes, low sperm counts and behavioral problems. They are everywhere so it is hard to avoid them on an individual level. Buying organic produce and avoiding saturated animal fats (which tend to harbor dioxins) may help.
Homocysteine
Homocysteine is an amino acid. It can contribute to the risks of heart disease, Alzheimer’s, furring of the arteries, toxicity in pregnancy, or even birth defects.
Its build-up can be caused by kidney disease, genetics or vitamin deficiencies. Supplementation of Vitamins B12, B6 and Folic Acid may be wise. These vitamins enable the conversion of homocysteine into less dangerous amino-acids in the body.
We are all exposed to toxins in the environment and our food over our lifetimes. Some are easy to avoid, others less so. Clean living and regular detox programs are probably the best we can do to avoid overexposure to toxins.

Don’t do the silly 1 day diet scams if you want to shed some weight overnight. Instead, you could drop some pounds and improve your health with a colon cleanse. Alot of people that have done it report losing between five and ten pounds of extra weight. Although a colon cleanse shouldnt be looked at as a weight loss product but it is definately one of the many pleasant benefits.
Consider doing a colon cleanse yourself because it is very good for your body. Because of our busy lifestyles today, our bodies are exposed to a whole lot of harmful stuff such as toxins, chemicals, fast food, pollutants, prescriptions and it’s never ending. Our bodies need to be flushed every season to help it cleanse itself of these toxins.
We exploit our bodies on a daily basis and a colon cleanse helps to correct some of that. After a cleanse removes the toxins and waste that is in our body, it can then begin taking in the nutrients from the good food we eat. Many report that with the taking in of good nutrients and the cleaning out of the fecal waste comes a lighter, fresher feeling.
The outcome of a dirty colon can be apparant by IBS symptoms, constipation, stomach pain and skin breakouts and are all distressing health conditions. By flushing out the fecal matter in the colon these problems can be replaced with an increase in energy and a flat stomach.
When the body is contaminated, there are some signs that show up to give warnings that something is wrong. A dirty colon may very well be the underlying cause for many of these ailments. By using a colon cleanse the body is on the path to total healing. The truth is the body can heal itself of most ailments. Even so, the body needs to be in an optimum state to do this. Getting rid of toxins from within the body will help the overall health of the body system.
Cleaning the colon by the most thorough and natural means possible is vital. Using an all-natural herbal product will provide a safe and productive internal cleansing. The colon cleanse will maximize elimination without causing embarrassing runny stools. In addition to maintaining regularity, no cramping is experienced like when people use laxatives. A good body cleanse solution will promote healthy bowel movements while assisting in cleansing the vital organs and lymphatic system.

November 18th, 2009 -- Posted in Benefits of Acai Berry |
It’s already no secret that acai berry products have anti-aging benefits. As a matter of fact, the “wonder fruit” took the internet and media by storm with its fountain-of-youth-good-news. The better news is that it now shows weight loss benefits as well. Aside from aging, obesity and unwanted weight gain has been a common problem in our societies.
The Need For Weight Loss
Studies show that individuals who are overweight are not necessarily “jolly”. As a matter of fact, aside from health problems, overweight people also suffer from unnecessary stress from a society which considers it odd. Unfortunately, it’s extremely hard for obese individuals, especially those who have been overweight most of their lives, to just lose weight. People who are overweight are also more prone to cardiac arrests due to clogged arteries, cancers, and diabetes.
Why Do Most Of Us Suffer From Weight Problems?
Most of us tend to tip the scale because we have unhealthy diets and lifestyles. About three or four decades ago, people in general were trimmer and healthier. Now, with the popularity of fast food chains, and more demanding work schedules, we simply “can’t find time” for proper diets and exercise. How can we, when the burger chain pizza parlors are just around the corner? Why should we bother jogging for an hour everyday, if we can earn enough money anyway to effortlessly get rid of unwanted fat through surgery?
A Change In Perspective
These “I don’t have time for health” arguments are coming from odd perspectives. We consider the fat problem as an image problem, which is, of course highly superficial unless you’re in the show business. We should think of obesity problems more realistically as health threatening problems, though. If we don’t act on losing weight now, we might be risking our lives unnecessarily.
Exercise Is So Tedious and Frustrating
You can’t jog for an hour and expect immediate results. Unfortunately, exercise alone can’t help you lose weight fast unless you give it a little push with the proper diet and acai berry supplements and other products. Acai berry products may be bought in capsule form (Be careful. Only buy those that are “freeze dried”.) and as frozen pulps which are more expensive but are good with smoothies.
Acai berry is ten times more potent as a fat eliminator compared to red wine. It also has twice the anti oxidants that are found in blueberries. If you’re worrying about side effects, you can rest assured that acai berry products are completely organic and will only affect your body in the same way most fruits do. They’re also packed with Vitamins C,A.D and E, and are rich in fiber (about 14%).
The reason why acai berry products are moderately priced is because only 10% of the fruit can actually be manufactured as weight loss and anti-aging products. Its seeds have not been proven to be useful, and seeds make up about 90% of the acai berry fruit. When you buy supplements and other acai berry products, make sure that no seeds have been used. These are good only as fuel, and add unnecessary weight to the product you’re purchasing. Acai berry can’t be exported as a fresh fruit either because it spoils easily. Your best bet would be a freeze dried capsule form.

The Clayton College of Natural Health is a distance education instituted devoted to helping people gain accreditation in various realms of health related fields. Some individuals benefit from taking distance education courses from this institution but others may not be suited for such a program. Following is some information about the Clayton College of Natural Health for you to consider.
First of all you want to think about your specific goals. You may find that you are heading down a career path that requires you to become very familiar with holistic nutrition, traditional naturopathy or natural health. These are the only subjects that degree programs fall under at the Clayton College of Natural Health.
Other programs offer certificates for subjects like herbal studies, iridology studies, healthcare professional studies and companion animal studies. There is no degree earned though these four subjects and I’m not quite sure how a certificate from any of those subjects could be used.
Some of the information offered by the Clayton College of Natural Health is a little unfamiliar to most. If you want to earn a degree in traditional naturopathy it would be best to look into the field a little before signing up for any classes. You may find that you are really interested in taking a holistic approach to your health studies.
There are some concerns about taking classes for accreditation at a distance education institution like the Clayton College of Natural Health. Since this seems to fall into the realm of medicine in a holistic kind of way it is certain that some may find the programs to be a little too unscientific for many healthcare professionals.
Consider where you will be employed in the future. If your goal is to work as a nutritionist for a large hospital you may want to forgo the Clayton College of Natural Health as an educational option. However, if you want to start a health and wellness consultation business you might be attracted to the degrees and certificates that the Clayton College of Natural Health has to offer.
The alternative health field is not for everyone. Many people prefer taking the traditional route to healthcare and nutrition. However, many others are drawn to alternative medicine as well. It is important to note that not everyone recognizes the Clayton College of Natural Medicine as a means of valid accreditation. You may want to conduct a little research before filling out an application.

There’s nothing natural about acne; unsightly blemishes caused by dirt, bacteria, and oil that has built up on your skin runs counterpoint to everything we know about health. And yet, when people look to treat their acne they often turn to unnatural treatments. Medication, harsh and drying topical ointments, and invasive surgical treatments are all used to treat acne with success. But the benefits are only skin deep.
When you use a natural acne treatment you are treating the whole body -not just the surface of the skin. Logically, what you put in your body eventually shows on your body. So it stands to reason that if you are putting unhealthy foods and substances into your body, your skin is telling the tale. Conversely, if we put healthy, natural foods into our body, our skin will reward us with clean, clear complexions.
Natural acne treatment involves cleansing and detoxifying our bodies from the inside out. Many people have found great success with herbal formulas – found in reputable health food stores – that cleanse the body internally.
In conjunction with cleansing techniques, natural acne treatment involves a significant lifestyle choice. The consumption of highly processed foods must be greatly minimized if not eliminated altogether; as should those foods that contain hydrogenated oil. Fat is not a bad thing but the type of fat you choose will determine your overall health. Focus on natural fats such as nuts and olive oil. For true inner – and subsequently, outer – health, the body must be fed with natural, whole foods such as fresh vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.
Focusing on whole foods will also eliminate preservatives and other chemicals that are often found in food and can wreak havoc on your skin. Natural acne treatment involves stripping your diet to the bare – and healthy – basics.
Additionally, increase your water intake to include the recommended eight glasses a day. Daily and consistent water consumption will go a long way to cleaning and clearing your skin naturally.
For further information on natural acne treatment, research the fundamentals online. You’ll find a community that is dedicated to the philosophy of natural acne treatment and overall health.
Natural acne treatment can benefit you in more ways than just eliminating your acne. Using the principles of natural acne treatment, you will experience greater health overall as your body reaps the benefits of your change in lifestyle.

“Cast Thyself Into The Enfolding Arms Of The Angel Of Water For She Shall Cast Out From Thee All That Is Unclean And Evil.” – The Dead Sea Scrolls- 3rd century BCE to 640 AD.
It constitutes an intrinsic part of our daily life and we couldn’t survive without it. Amongst its countless benefits to our health and our planet, WATER is the ultimate natural detox tool.
The recent Detox Craze has reached phenomenal proportions, with manufacturers frantically marketing products that promise instant cleansing and purification, in an attempt to fulfil -and obviously profit from- such an overwhelming market demand.
By highly publicizing their successful detox experiences, stars like Beyonce -amongst others- have contributed in making detox ‘hip’ and ‘trendy’. This and other factors have made detox the health buzzword of the 21st century. It is now considered a necessary factor in the quest for optimal health, weight loss and well being.
Unfortunately, such proliferation, variety and availability of detox aids makes identifying the ideal personal detox program a daunting task.
Many cases and articles of ‘detox gone wrong’ are published on the web, reminding the gullible and the unseasoned of the dangers of extreme detox, which clearly could be health-hazardous.
The quest for the ideal detox tool or program is on, with a mind-boggling array of products to choose from: Detox supplements, colon cleansing aids, detox foot baths and detox patches. The list is endless!
In our frantic search for the ultimate detox, we’ve overlooked the ideal and most obvious detox aid. A free, natural resource we’re in physical contact with every single day of our life: Water.
NOTHING supports the body’s cleansing and elimination capacity like Water; the most ancient and potent natural detox aid ever known to mankind. Whether by drinking it, sweating or bathing in it, water has been used to expel toxins, and restore health since the dawn of humanity.
Drink Plenty of Water
We’re all familiar with the dangers of, even minor, dehydration by now.
If the body is not sufficiently hydrated, the cells will draw water from the bloodstream, thus pressurizing and burdening the heart. Even mild dehydration prevents the kidneys from effectively purifying the blood.
When this happens, some of the kidney’s workload is passed on to the liver and other organs, and may cause them to be severely stressed. Minor health conditions such as constipation, dry and itchy skin, acne, nosebleeds, urinary tract infections, coughs, sneezing, sinus problems and headache may develop as a consequence.
It is no secret that drinking 2 litres of water a day can dramatically improve your health, and the signs will be obvious: Glowing complexion and clear skin, better immunity, better digestion, less aches and pains, weight loss, less cellulite, better concentration and renewed vitality and energy.
Most detox regimes recommend flooding the body with purified or filtered water, rather than the bottled kind. Infusing the body with water will immediately stimulate your kidneys, liver and digestive system’s (primary detox organs) functions. It will boost your metabolism, which in turn accelerates toxin and fat elimination.
Water fasts are highly praised for cleansing, and are regularly practised by keen detox advocates. However, fasting is not to be taken lightly, and any fast longer than 48 hours should be medically supervised.
Steam and Sweat Baths
There is a valid reason why humans have used sweat baths for hygienic and health purposes since the Stone Age. It is because sweating has proven its effectiveness in flushing out toxins and disease, and maintaining optimal health.
The skin is the largest organ in the body and, through the pores it plays a major role in the detoxifying process alongside the lungs, kidneys, bowels, liver, and the lymphatic and immune systems. The skin produces cool sweat to regulate the body’s elevated temperature. It also has the ability to transform toxins from lipid-soluble or oil-based, into easier to eliminate, water-soluble form. Sweat carries toxins out of the body and flushes them through the pores.
Most cultures around the world have their own versions of the sweat bath, whether it’s the ancient Romans and their “Thermae” or the traditional Japanese “Onsen”. The Russian “Banya”, or the native American Indians’ “Inipi”, without omitting the notorious Turkish bath or “Hamam”. However, the Finnish Sauna, remains the most prominent and popular one of all.
Regardless of what it’s called, the sweat bath’s health benefits are infinite, with the primary one being its waste and toxins elimination action through the pores. Other sweat bath benefits include improved circulation, weight and fat loss, skin cleansing and body and mind relaxation.
Detox Bath
An equally powerful water detox method is the Detox Bath.
Based on an ancestral detox technique created by Louis Kuhne of Leipzig in 1883, (who used it to treat his own cancer and heal thousands of often-serious diseases), the Detox Bath uses ONLY water and can take as little as 10 minutes a day.
The Detox Bath’s working principle is to refresh the core area of the body (around the groin and genitals) during 10 minutes daily or longer, depending on your initial condition, and the results you seek to achieve. This process creates a vibration in the fascia (Interconnecting tissue covering all internal organs), which sets in motion a roll-back effect that transports digestion’s leftover fats and deposited toxins back to the intestines, where they are later eliminated.
Why Is The Detox Bath So Powerful?
Besides its toxin and fat elimination action, the Detox Bath’s potency resides in the fact that:
1- It works on the groin area, one of the highest nerve-concentration areas in the body, hence its positive effect on mood, sleep and energy.
2- The groin houses main arteries, so the bath greatly improves blood circulation and digestion.
3- It stimulates the root chakra, which governs sexual energy and reproductive organs. It helps regulate the menstrual cycle, and has been used by Louis Kuhne to treat impotence. It is also beneficial for low libido and menopausal symptoms.
Practiced regularly, the Detox Bath, (based on Louis Kuhne’s friction sitz bath) supports the body’s elimination capacity, effectively ridding it of toxins and fat. It boosts metabolism and digestion; improves sleep, energy and mood, and promotes clear skin and radiant complexion.
Conclusion
Detox is not -and never will be- an instant, magical fix. Detox is an ongoing process, which provides tremendous health benefits, that you can enjoy starting today, by simply using water.
A regular practice of a combination of the 3 -almost free- and completely safe water detox methods above is the only detox regime you’ll ever need to effectively eliminate toxins and fat, and enjoy a lifetime of radiant health.
