That is the big "stretch" con artists are selling.

Mostly, its a scam.
My mom bought it and lost 6 pounds, but the thing is, she lost them from washing out the toxins in her body, you dont really lose fat. And honestly, its not worth the money. She paid 26 bucks for the pills for each of two bottles.

But if youre talking about Actualy Acai Berries, yes their good for you all around and have the same benefits as other fruits.

I just bought two 46 oz bottles and I’m just curious if by drinking that could I lose any kind of weight? Any tips on how often I should drink it? Or if I should drink it before or after a work out… Or is it just a flavor and has no benefits?
I work out at Curves three times a week and I eat as healthy as I can and I do not over eat.

If your goal is to use it like that Acai Berry juice crap, its not going to work. The real stuff that is meant for that does not even work. It is V-8, it gives you a few of the benefits of fruits and veggies. It is not going to make you lose weight.

I’m taking acai berry liquid and took one capsul full today and I’m feeling…high. I’m a little bit jittery, pretty out of it and numb and a little naucious but I also just started birth control pill last night so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it. I don’t know if maybe its extra energy but I don’t know I’m feeling very weird and light headed. What were any side effects or benefits to acai or that you personally had.

Nikki- I personally have no experience with acai, so why am I answering, you ask? I did some research, and acai is a pretty strong stimulant. This, combined with birth control pills could be upsetting your stomach. Hopefully you’re not skipping meals as I assume you’re taking acai to lose weight.

Ok so my wife just bought some of Andrew Lessman’s Acai Berry extract and I’m just wondering if it’s worth taking? I’m not looking for a website or a business opportunity just some honest response from people who have taken it. I know there are a lot of claims for weight loss, and I’ve heard of some other benefits. So – does it really do anything?

Not really. You aren’t gonna notice anything more than if you were eating a couple handfulls of blueberries on a daily basis.
I’ve been taking acai supplements for a while "just because". Been trying to lose some weight for ages with no real success, and figured it wouldn’t hurt to try.
And really that’s the thing. Acai supplements are generally safe to take and won’t do any harm. So why not just add it in and hope for the best?
I haven’t had an increase in weight loss or experienced any of the other things the TV ads swear Acai can do, but I haven’t had any problems either.
I bought a name brand supplement after doing some research, found it on sale, and figured there wasn’t much to lose besides 12 dollars. Oh, about 4 months of daily pill taking, no change for good or bad. Oh well.

I keep hearing about all the nutritional benefits of this berry, but know that they are harvested from a certain tree in the Amazonian rainforest. If I purchase products that contain these berries or their extracts, am I harming the environment or do they grow these trees on farms to harvest the berries?

I’ve just bought acai berry and colon cleanse tablets from holland & barrett (not from one of those risk-free trial things!) i started using them last friday but havent really noticed much of a difference yet, has anyone else used these products together, if so how long do u think it’ll take for my body to react to them? They are no better than fresh berries from your local store – in fact the fresh ones are more beneficial.
They tell you to diet and take exercise, this does the work, not the wretched acai.
As forcolon cleanse, the colon is self cleansing. Waste of money.

I bought some Acai berry pills because I had heard so many things about them having all these antioxidants and healthy vitamins and such. I eat healthy. I work out regularly. I take vitamins. Just seems to be so hard to lose last 5 pounds around the waist. Have any of you tried acai berry supplements, green tea supplements?

Its a fruit tht has higher antioxidants than any other fruits available and mayb have more nutrients too but nothin more thn tht..

MonaVie supposedly has many health benefits because it contains 13 servings of fruit in 3 or 4oz. Also the healing properties of the Acai berry is beneficial as well. Since my mother is not to keen on maintaining her health I was curious to hear some feedback from actual users or past users.

I’ve heard great things about Acai Berrys helping people lose weight and being extremely good for you.

I’ve also heard about the credit card frauds etc.

To solve this problem I figured i’d drop by a health-food store, buy it not worry about the credit card fraud and get the health benefits of the acai berries

2 questions

1. Will they have it at a health-food store?
2. Whats the best brand, should i get actual Acai Berries or get capsules of it?

I have been through it all and know what’s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can’t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I’ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can’t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising…

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it’s good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It’s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I’ve found a great addition to help any one out, it’s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don’t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don’t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn’t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It’s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. For me it’s the best pill I’ve tried and I’ve tried cupboards full. Sort of like counteracting the effects?
I’m just worried that the Acai Berry’s benefits won’t have any benefit if i at all drink Green Tea the same day.

I believe that there has been a recent craze over the benefits of acai berries, I’ve researched a little about it and found conflicting views on it. I still want to try it but wonder which of the three types of acai berry blend i shld get https://mymonavie.com/donovanewing/product.asp

I am already in my late thirties and looking to shed some extra weight with the help of acai berry plus good eating habits and exercise..

"That good" as in taste good or healthy for you kind of "good?"
Both.
However, if you’re only wanting it for the taste, it’s not worth all that money. My mom used to buy them all the time but we kind of stopped because it’s worth so much. If you’re wanting it to get healthier, (pretty obvious) then yes it’s a good choice to drink Mona Vie because that stuff is really good for your body. FYI it also tastes amazing!:)

I’ve been hearing so much stuff about the health benefits of acai berry. Everywhere I look, somebody is trying to sell you acai berry in one form or another and claiming their product is the best. I would really like to give it a try but I’m not sure any of these people are telling the truth.

When it comes to acai berry products there are only really a few factors to consider.

First is the quality of the extract they use, which is mostly dependent on how they process it.

Next of course would be the amount of it you get per serving.

The most common thing to look for on the label would be the ORAC value of the product. This is the value they use to measure the amount of antioxidants in foods.

As far as I know the best acai products out there are amazon thunder, sambazon, monavie, and acai ultra burn.

Acai Ultra Burn puts the ORAC value right on the bottle and its over 70,000. Many of the other products out there will not have a value over 3,000.

Hiya guys, I am not looking to lose weight or anything like that I am simply wanting to have a healthy body. I am health conscious in lots of ways but I have heard acai berry is a good antioxidant. I do however also have IBS and so I am hoping it might help with my bloating a bit. Is it a good supplement to take? Any advice I would appreciate.

Forget it, it’s more likely to upset your body than do any good.

One of the newly discovered berry “stars” of antioxidant plants is the acai (“ah-sigh-ee”) palm berry (Euterpe oleracea Mart.) that comes from the tropical regions of Central and South America.

The genus is named after the muse Euterpe of Greek mythology and the major plant family is Arecaceae. The vernacular name is sometimes called Assai Palm.

Acai is well-known in the exotic functional food industry as a rich tasting, darkly pigmented (deep blue-purple) fruit whose delicious juice is either consumed from bottles or combined with yogurt and other health foods to create smoothies.

Where do acai palms grow and what are the characteristics of the berries?

According to Wikipedia, acai is a genus of 25-30 palm species native to tropical Central and South America, from Belize to Brazil and Peru. It grows mainly along rivers, in floodplains and swamps. They are tall, slender, attractive palms that grow 15-30 m tall, with pinnate leaves up to 3 m long. The fruit is a small, round, black-purple berry similar in size to a grape. They are produced in branched clusters of 700-900 fruits that must be picked by hand. Though its appearance is similar to that of a grape, the acai has a smaller amount of pulp and a single large seed about 7–10 mm in diameter.

What is it about the acai that has caught the attention of consumers?

Besides its deep blue color and delectable taste (hinting of chocolate), the preliminary analysis of nutrient content shows acai as one of the tropic’s most nutritious fruits and certainly an exceptional source of antioxidant pigments.

What nutrients stand out in the acai berry?

Although the data has not been published or independently verified, the early research on acai shows it is rich in vitamins A, B and C, minerals (particularly iron and calcium), dietary fiber and proteins. It also contains an omega-3 fatty acid, a beta-sitosterol (a phytosterol that inhibits cholesterol formation in humans) and essential amino acids. Oleic acid, an omega-9 fatty acid found in virgin olive oil, is especially rich in the acai.

What about the antioxidant strength of acai?

A manufacturer of acai products states on its website that acai has three times the antioxidant strength of blueberries and eight times that of strawberries. The likely source of such unusual antioxidant power would come from the dark blue pigments found in acai berry skin – the large class of flavonoids called anthocyanins and particularly from two (cyanidin-3-glucoside and cyanidin-3-rutinoside), which are the main pigments isolated from acai.

What does medical research say about the health properties of acai?

As a relatively new discovery, acai has appeared in the online database of the US National Library of Medicine—PubMed—only since 2004. Since then, just five reports are listed (June 2006).

Three studies analyzed the antioxidant properties of acai, showing its powerful effects against specific oxidizing agents like peroxyl radicals and peroxynitrite. One interesting finding was that the total antioxidant capacity of acai could be accounted in just 10% of the identified anthocyanins. This finding indicates that acai is loaded with other, yet unidentified, antioxidant phytochemicals.

In 2006, a study performed at the University of Florida showed that acai antioxidants could induce more rapid death (apoptosis) of leukemia cells in vitro. This preliminary research indicates a possible anti-cancer effect of anthocyanins and other pigments, as shown for North American dark berries like the blueberry and black raspberry.
