I love this juice a lot! and 8 ounces just isnt enough for me & its pretty expensive for me to be having 3 cups of it a day! so i want to add water to it & i don’t know if adding water will mild its benefits… how much water can i add without losing any of its benefits? is one cup & a half of water ok to add?

Adding water will not reduce it’s benefits as long as you still drink all of it.

Acai is rich in essential fatty acids, which may help reduce harmful LDL cholesterol while supporting levels of the beneficial HDL cholesterol. In diabetes weak capillaries can lead to a condition called retinopathy, which often leads to blindness. The anthocyanins in Acai protect small and large blood vessels, including veins, arteries and capillaries.

Acai’s low glycemic index improves glucose and lipid levels in diabetics. Acai’s low glycemic index also helps control appetite and delay hunger, which can help individuals trying to lose weight.

Acai provides dietary fiber, excellent for digestive tract health, high levels of calcium, vitamins A and E, and phosphorus. Acai has a significant amount of calcium, which help strengthen bones, prevent fractures, and can help prevent osteoporosis. Women who experience extreme menstrual pain can also benefit from Acai. Calcium-rich foods help coat the lining of the stomach and uterus, and help reduce the pain from cramps and bloating.

Acai’s dietary fiber helps promote the health of the digestive tract, including the colon. The broad array of antioxidants in Acai may help protect and repair the lower esophagus damaged by acid-reflux disease. Acai’s acid-suppression effects reduce the acidity of stomach contents when reflux does occur. The antibacterial properties of Acai kill bad bacteria, fungi and parasites, including ulcer-causing bacteria. Acai’s anti-inflammatory abilities may prevent the malabsorption of vital nutrients by preventing damage to the wall of the small intestine.

Is it safe to have acai berry while pregnant?

March 4th, 2011 -- Posted in Benefits of Acai Berry | 4 Comments »

I was just wondering about this. It seems to have lots of benefits aside from wieght control and I was wondering if anyone knows if its safe to have while pregnant. Im 27 weeks and 3 days btw.

Many people who use the acai berry diet to control their weight worry that using the acai supplements may have potential side effects. The good news is that most people actually suffer no negative side effects because the properties of the acai fruit are completely natural.

In fact, the only side effect you might experience is an allergy that causes a rash or skin irritation. Most people will not have an allergy to any of the components that make up the fruit unless they are allergic to other berries such as raspberries or strawberries. In this case you might want to proceed with caution.

Due to this fact, the berry is usually safe to consume during pregnancy because it is natural. However, every supplement pill is made up of different properties, so the safest way to find out if it will harm your child, is by bringing your diet supplement with you to your next doctor’s visit.

For the most part, the berry is purely natural and has been used by Amazonian women for thousands of years during and after childbirth. However, should not is the operative term here, so always consult a doctor before you take the acai berry supplement while pregnant

What do you know about the Acai Berry?

March 1st, 2011 -- Posted in Benefits of Acai Berry | 7 Comments »

I have heard a lot about the acai berry lately and I really want to try it. I heard its healthy and helps people lose weight along with a lot of other benefits. Just wondering what you know about it or if anyone has tried it and what their results were?

Thanks so much.

P.S. I tried to buy it off of this one website and It wouldn’t expect my VISA debit card even thought VISA was an option and I have plenty of money in my account .. Anyone else had this problem or know how I can fix it?

Only the sources that have been around since Acai became popular are the ones to be trusted. Just recently the free trials hot and all those sites are new and maybe gone soon (after they have your money). If you want the real thing from a reputable source, see http://acaiberriesbenefits.com for education and direction.

savithri

Common Names: Acai Palm, Assai Palm, Cabbage Palm

Acai Berry: In Brazilian herbal medicine, the oil of the Acai fruit is used to treat diarrhea; an infusion of the grated fruit rind is used as a topical wash for skin ulcers; and, the fruit seeds are crushed and prepared in an infusion for fevers. In the Peruvian Amazon, an infusion of the toasted crushed seeds is used for fever. In Colombia, where the trees grow along the Pacific coast line, it is called naidí and the fruit is turned into a common and popular drink

Acai Juice: Easily the most common use of the Acai fruit by
Amazonians is the dark purple juice. Very nutritious juice

Health benefits
acai berries are amongst the most nutritious foods of the Amazon, rich in B vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein and omega-3 fatty acids. Acai also contains oleic acid (omega-9), a beneficial fatty acid (often mistakenly referred to as essential).

Some of the claims being made for Acai drink are extraordinary … including weight loss and the lowering of cholesterol and curing of cancer.

P.s.
you may as well eat a few dozen red grapes or perhaps black currants, or blackberries each day as pay for an exorbitantly priced bottle of Acai juice drink which will have little or no effect on your health…
