I’ve read about a lot of liver cleanses–juice fasts, lemon juice and cayenne, olive oil, epsom salts, herbal mixes, radish juice etc. Is there a natural (not packaged) liver cleanse that you’ve tried and would suggest?

I use Jergen’s Natural Glow lotion on my face. But now I am worried that it’s gonna make my acne mark more appearant. Also, I don’t know if it’s actually bad for acne skin or not.

If that lotion is oil based it could make the acne worse. Look for a lotion or moisturizer that says it’s oil free.

Here’s a simple formula for keeping the acne away.
1. Go Buy two face cleaners: 1 clearsil pads and 1 apricot scrub
- Use clearsil pad to clean your face every morning and before bed. (Wash face with water, dry, use pad, don’t dry).
- Apricot scrub. Use this at least once a week. Best to use every other day though. Easiest to use in shower. After use then use clearsil pad.
2. Use rubbing alcohol for spot reduction. Dip Q tip in rubbing alcohol and apply to pimple before bed.
3. Don’t cause scars: Don’t pick if you don’t have to.
4. Keep your hair clean. Our hair has so much oil in it (even dry hair). Many people don’t realize that a lot of acne comes from hair. This means shower at least every other day.
5. Keep your pillow case clean. Wash weekly. If you don’t have washer and dryer then wash in bathtub. It holds a lot of oil!
6. If you are a female you can also buy some concelear. If you can afford it buy oil free concelear (like Physicians Formula). If not then buy 99 cent concelear (wet n wild brand is cheap). You can use this to cover up acne while in public and for some reason i think it helps to wear it.
7. Drinks lots of water!!!

If you can’t afford to buy acne products listed above there are home remedy formulas.
Instead of clearsil pads apply rubbing alcohol with cloth.
Instead of apricot scrub mix oil free soap with sugar (I used to keep a glass jar of sugar in my bathroom).

If this doesn’t work you can ask your doctor to prescribe Benzol Peroxide (use it in place of the cleansing pads), it’s a bit stronger.

You can’t get rid of scars until you’ve been acne free for 3 months. At this time you can start using scar meds. like Mederma.

Tip: Hot water opens pores so you can clean them out. Cold water closes them.

Tip: Don’t ever rub face dry with a towel. Either blot dry or let air dry. Towel particles clog up pores.

REMEMBER: You have to use all steps for it to be effective.

Okay, I"m so sorry you’re having such a hard time. Shame on your doctor for not answering all your questions. You must feel like nobody cares…well, please know you are precious and cared for.

Since you were only 7 weeks along (if I read you correctly) the doctor probably feels like it is less serious, and not too much different than a normal menstrual period. She probably sees many other miscarriages and has forgotten how new and traumatic this is for you. I"m so sorry.

Call her office back and ask to talk to her nurse-you’ll get more answers from the nurse, and quicker. You can ask the nurse to check with the doctor about traveling etc. Meanwhile, be alert for any signs of complications-fever, an increase in bleeding, a foul odor with discharges, an increase in pain. Ask the nurse what else to watch for and what would indicate a need for a return visit to the doctor. Find out if it is safe to have sex yet. Find out if you can take tylenol or ibuprofen for pain-tell them whatever other meds and vitamins you’re taking.

A D&C is probably not necessary unless there are complications. Your doctor would do one if she felt it necessary, but she should have explained the process to you more carefully. You deserve more consideration and more explanations at the very least. So, again, call the office back and politely but firmly request your questions be answered. She is giving you two weeks probably kind of a standard length of time off for most women in similar situations. If your pain and bleeding last longer than that it’s definitely time for a recheck. You may want to consider a second opinion, and find a doctor more in tune with you.

apparantly, many people seem to look at colon cleansing as a way to loos weight, wich is not what im looking for. Im looking to cleanse my intestines/colon. does any one know of any cleansing formulas?

I loved this. Don’t ask me why, but somehow I developed a taste for the stuff. Strange but true. I get a lot of strange looks, but I don’t care. It’s the lemonade diet. It works. You take water, real lemons, grade (a? b? can’t remember but I’ll get you the link in a minute) maple syrup and cayenne pepper. You do some other stuff too. It sounds awful but it’s not. Here’s the link.

Do your research first, though. This may not be the best option for you. Explore your options and think before you start messing around with any diet. Consult your physician, too, just in case.

What are the materials that I will need to start a detox or cleansing? I have a long holiday weekend and want to get on this but do not want to get something out of a box that some no name entity says is natural. I have a friend that says enemas and citrate will do the trick but I can find nothing on line to confirm this.

If you are just starting out, I would not recommend doing a deep detoxification. It will be very difficult (thus more likely to fail). The best place to start is to approach it simply. Start with water, non-chlorinated preferably (ie natural spring). Take your weight in pounds, divide it by 2. The result will approximate the number of ounces of water your body needs each day. (So, if you are 150 lbs, drink 75 ounces each day – not all at once!!).

The next best thing to do is to use your bodie’s natural means to detoxify. This is done with a compound called glutathione. This is something that your body naturally produces, but requires certain essential amino acids to be able to produce it. Most people have a deficiency of glutathione after they stop breast feeding. Unless you can drink 3 glasses on raw milk each day, I would recommend buying a bio-available whey protein isolate. It is prepared from milk in a way that preserves the essential amino acids that you need to the fullest. The cooking of our proteins is what destroys the essential amino acids in our diets. Do not confuse this with the common whey protein concentrates that are used in body building products.

Nutmeg gives slow but good results. Take a spoon of nutmeg and add milk with it and make a paste. Apply it in your face from bottom to top movements. Wash after 15 minutes with warm water.

I like giving this to my girlfriend and it seems that it also might have good thraputic qualities as well. It seems like a natural cleanse.

Dude, think about what you implying! Okay, say it is. If so, then everytime you go down on her you are getting a mouthfull of whatever it is cleaning out of her vagina…like maybe the last thing you deposited there??? I’d like something natural for cleansing my facial skin that I can reach for in the shower, without having to keep it refrigerated or anything like that. Any ideas?

Use castile soap. Dr. Bronners makes a castile soap scented with lavendar. I love, love, love the way it smells. You can buy a whole gallon online for about $35. It will last you FOREVER! The soap is concentrated so all you need it a couple drops on your hands and lather. Get a smaller size just to try. My face has never looked better since I started using this product.

ok i love this i do it every week or two week for best results less in the winter because the skin is dryer. milk mixed with cornmeal scrub srub, rinse, follow up with aloe vera not lotion. for sensitive skin try useing meseca its a finer cornmeal i used it cuz didnt have the other around and it worked good but much more gentel. you dont need very much of the stuff just a little bit will do just fine.

I usually avoid this section like the plague…but you guys do know your fruits and veggies! So I’m asking for a little help here, I’d like to get my family eating healthier, less meat and carbs and more veggies and such. But I’d like to start with some sort of detox diet myself (not the kids!). So if you happen to know of any, I’d appreciate it!

The easiest, most painless detox is the one-day monodiet. As the name implies, it means that you choose a single food (a fruit or vegetable) and you eat it exclusively for a day. You go out and buy 2 or 3 pounds of your chosen produce and have it throughout the day. There are many things to choose from. I’d avoid celery, as it isn’t very substantial. I’m a fan of apples, papaya (tastes bad but is great for you), pears, carrots, and oranges. You only get one variety, though. So no fair getting some Granny Smiths and some Red Delicious and some Gala. Just one kind. You can steam the veg/fruit, or bake it, but you can’t add fat, or anything but water. (That’s all you get to drink, too, by the way.)

In any case, a good way to detox is to cut alcohol, caffeine, refined sugars, processed foods, and dairy. It might be a good idea to cut wheat, too. Apparently gluten sensitivities are common and people sometimes don’t realize that they have one. Drink more water.

I want to do a complete body cleansing But, I want to try to do it naturally. Can any one tell me what are the best foods to do this with. or a reasonable diet? & I don’t want to sign up for some stupid program or buy pills.

I’ve seen some studies showing that you seriously don’t need stupid programs and pills. If you want to clean out your system, get rid of alcohol and smoking if you do them, get a good amount of water and plenty of fruit and vegetables, and do light exercise every day. It doesn’t take magic, honest!

A lot of it is just positive thinking and really focusing on your body and your health. Do things that make you feel good – hot showers, saunas, massage, whatever. Eat good food with lots of natural vitamins. And keep moving – you’ll start to feel much more energetic.

Eat some fiber rich foods like some lentil soup or quinoa. They’ll get everything cleaned out & unblocked after a few days. Avoid dairy and large amounts of meat during those few days too.

I know that having a poor diet, stress, and other factors can cause acne but what is something natural that I can use on my face daily for cleansing. I don’t want to use salicylic acid or benzol peroxide based products all the time, I have recently learned that they can have long-term effects………

I know what you mean! There are so many chemicals in a lot of the products on the market these days. When I had acne breakouts I would wash my face with diluted baking soda, vinegar or lemon juice, then follow with an egg white mask or cooled-down oatmeal mask. It worked for me and I feel better knowing that I am using ingredients that are safe enough to eat! Good luck.

Absolutely! Eat more fiber.
No, it doesn’t have to be one of those nasty powders or expensive concoctions… just eat more fruits, veggies, crackers, chips, cereal, pastas, breads, grains, etc. Sending more fiber through your digestive tract is basically what those expensive products do… they just use specific fibers.
It’s also a good idea to supplement with probiotics to help you keep regular and replenish anything that may have been pushed out. Good luck!

[edit]: Oh, and Castor Oil is NOT good to take internally unless it’s an emergency. It’s generally recommended for external use only because the BM that it forces is literally your body trying to purge it out because it doesn’t want it in there… that’s not healthy.

I have read and watched so much media about cleansing programs and would like to know from your experience which program is the best in terms of effectiveness and cost aimed at natural cures.
